We travel through lush green New Zealand farmland and visit the magical movie set of Sir Peter Jacksons. Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit An Unexpected journey.

After a two hour tour of the set, which includes a free locally brewed beverage at the Green Dragon inn and delicious lunch（included）we continue on our travels. Our next destination is the Waitomo Valley and the magical Waitomo Caves, where tiny glow worms light our way through caves filled with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites.

This tour is a wonderful opportunity for you to visit the set of the world acclaimed movies; The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, as well as a chance to enjoy a relaxing trip through the North Island countryside.

First we leave the city centre and travel south, crossing the Bombay hills which mark the farthest boundary of the greater Auckland region.

We then enter the Waikato region, one of the dairy farming hubs of New Zealand.

We then head south to the township of Matamata and the nearby film set sites of Peter Jacksons record breaking movies.

The tripWe join a guided tour of the movie set, enjoy a drink and a relaxing lunch before making our way back through the Waikato region to Auckland City.

Rotorua Thermal City One Day Tour

The trip from Auckland City take approximately three hours.
First we visit the agrodome farm show where we experience sheep shearing and a tour of a working farm.
We then visit Te Puia thermal village where experience Maori culture and a thermal wondeland.

• We leave the city and travel 10 minutes west to the village of Titirangi which is nestled in the Waitakare ranges. A short drive on iconic "Scenic Drive" sees us in Aucklands largest national park surrounded by native bush and enjoying back over the city.
• Our first stop is at the Aritaki Visitors Centre to take in the magnificent views of the Manukau harbour and to enjoy gathering information and viewing exhibits that are on public display.
• We then head for the bustling commercial hub of Kumeu, where we stop to visit a unique railway station Caféfor refreshments.
• Next stop is the black sand and surf of the west coasts Murawai beach. Stunning views, crashing waves and a visit to the Southern hemispheres largest gannet colony, perched high on the cliffs is on of the highlights of our journey.
• Next is an opportunity to ride a horse along the beach or even enjoy a round of golf, with the picturesque links running down almost to the water's edge.
• Our final destination is a visit to Matua Valley Wineries a short distance away, where we have the opportunity to relax in magnificent surroundings and taste some of New Zealand's premium white and red wines.
• We then head back to the city centre via a new roading system currently under construction. This building activity is vitally important, catering to the ever increasing traffic volumes as the Auckland region develops into a truly international destination.

Join Kiwilandscape’s small group tour to discover the magical Matakana region situated less than an hour’s drive from Auckland city.

First stop is at Puhoi village for a taste of New Zealand as it used to be. Then on to visit The Honey Centre which contains New Zealand’s largest display of live bees, as well as a huge range of native honeys to taste and purchase. Included amongst the displays are world renowned Manuka honey products.

We then move onto Matakana village where local business people have developed this once small country town into a thriving centre. Within the centre can be found; art galleries, boutique shopping, local crafts and a colourful and entertaining market which takes place each Saturday.

Close by we then visit a world class pottery: Morris and James, where displays of colourful pots, wall tiles and sculptures, many with a New Zealand themes, can be viewed and purchased. A short tour of the pottery is available if you wish.

Lunch is available at Matakana village or at one of the many surrounding vineyards. Each individual tour will cater to your needs and ensure a perfect destination for a peaceful lunch break.

Next is a visit to nearby Sheepworld and Nature Park where we will be entertained by a live sheep dog trial and have an opportunity to bottle feed a lamb and be part of a sheep shearing display.
